Very tasty contemporary Thai in a cosy setting. The dishes are very flavorful and fresh ingredients. The angel prawns are a favorite. We also tried the soft shell crab and the lamb - both of which were beautifully cooked and packed with flavour. The spice levels are also mild. Note: They don’t do the classics (eg. spring rolls and pad Thai). Service was fast, friendly and attentive and the waitress had a very good knowledge of the menu. We paid ~$100pp including a couple of alcohol drinks each.
We had the tasting tonight, the food was pretty tasty but I didn't enjoy the service or the atmosphere. It was a full house and too noisy to hold a proper conversation. What was most annoying to me was that the service felt rushed, plates were removed quickly, sometime we weren't even done with them. Then we waited for the next course, food arrives, rushed explanation, plates dashed away, then we were told that the next seating has arrived just as we finished our desserts. We were ushered out the door. I would have enjoyed a cocktail or some more dessert as I was not fully satisfied. I really wanted to love this quirky rebellious Thai but sadly I don't. Luckily there's plenty of options on the same strip.
The food is actually so good. Authentic Thai flavours are so hard to find in Canberra but this place delivers that in a fine dining concept while maintaining a relaxed but refined atmosphere by the lake. Go for the awesome tasting menu - everything is a delight and range of flavours is pretty exceptional. Also good value for a hatter restaurant. What’s not to love?
A must try place in Canberra!! Food here is not to eat only , it’s something to create an ever lasting memory!! Cocktails are intense in flavours and at the same time compliments the food beautifully !! Being a resident of Kingston it’s a place to be recommended to all friends coming from outside!! Can’t wait to be back just to try the remaining dishes on their menu!!
We were lucky enough to get the last available table for 2 early on a rainy Saturday evening, without a reservation. Morks is cosy yet vibrant with friendly unassuming staff. The menu is really interesting and the food incredibly tasty. The wine list has a few wines by the glass, but with no chardonnay available I went with the Malbec to stand up to the bold flavours of our dishes. The fish curry was my favourite. We will be back.
I don't normally leave a review but u was
extremely disappointed with the tasting menu. At 98pp I was not worth the food quality, presentation and portions. This definitely be on the bottom of a foodie list. I was excited at the first as it's a twist on Thai food and how they turn it into a tasting menu. We were a group of 6 and had to order rice in between. Some dishes was as though you're eating whatever was left at the bottom of the pot after everyone has taken their shares.
Great food, great service.
The set menu had great amount of food and was a perfect way to taste various different offerings. The menu items were very innovative and the taste was very well balanced.
I didn't want the dessert, spice merchant, to end. It was really good.
Food was great with reasonable price. Staff here were so nice and attentive it was a fantastic lunch with my parents. Definately recommend visiting here.
